"Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery on Ossington is one of those Toronto gems that you just have to try at least once. The place has this cool, slightly retro vibe that fits perfectly with the area — laid-back, artsy, and buzzing with people almost every evening. Their ice cream flavours are honestly some of the most creative you’ll find anywhere in the city. Every time I go, there’s something new on the board — from quirky mixes like burnt toffee, matcha-honeycomb, and London fog, to more experimental flavours that you’d never expect to work but somehow do. You can tell there’s a lot of thought and creativity behind each combination. The cookie sandwiches are a whole experience on their own — freshly baked, chewy, and the perfect texture to pair with the creamy ice cream. You can mix and match flavours and really make it your own, which is part of what makes the place fun. It’s the kind of spot that feels a little nostalgic, a little adventurous, and definitely indulgent. That said, something about it still feels like it’s missing that final touch. Maybe it’s the atmosphere — it can feel a bit too busy and rushed at times. The lineups are no joke, especially on weekends or summer evenings. You could easily wait 20–30 minutes just to get to the counter, and by the time you do, you might feel a bit too hurried to really enjoy choosing your flavours. I also find it a bit on the pricier side for what it is, especially if you go for the cookie sandwich or one of the bigger combos. Still, Bang Bang deserves the hype for its creativity and bold flavours. It’s not your average ice cream shop — it’s an experience that keeps people curious and coming back. If you don’t mind a bit of a wait and want to try something that’s both familiar and surprising at the same time, it’s definitely worth a visit. Just maybe plan to go earlier in the day or on a weekday if you want to skip the long lines."
"Been here a few times now and snapped a photo when I was trying out their different flavours. What makes this place special is they actually make the ice cream from scratch, it’s not just shipped in like a lot of other spots. There’s usually a lineup on weekends, but it moves quickly (15–20 minutes tops). The staff are super friendly, explain the flavours really well, and help you pick if you’re not sure. They’ve got a huge range, with little notes about the taste and ingredients, which is a nice touch. My personal favourites: MUD, WTF, and Tiramisu. The Ontario Cherry is great too if you’re into that fruity vibe (not savoury). The only one we didn’t enjoy as much was the mango. Didn’t get a chance to try their waffle cone but that’s on the list for the next time lol . Pro tip: after your ice cream, grab a coffee from Pilot Roasters next door! it’s the perfect combo."
"I tried their mango pudding ice cream on a local’s recommendation, and she wasn’t wrong this is a must-try ice cream shop! It was a Monday afternoon, yet the crowd was crazy. No wonder it’s so famous! The ice cream was fresh, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and there was a great variety to choose from."
"I tried a bubble waffle cone with boba milk tea ice cream and chocolate hazelnut ice cream, both flavors were delicious and the waffle cone was the perfect warm and cozy treat for the season! My partner got the Cinnamon Toast ice cream, which was unfortunately a miss. It was too sweet and just tasted like someone dumped a bunch of cinnamon into milk, there was no real flavor. Overall, I’d recommend checking the reviews for the most recommended flavors before you buy something here, since there was no sampling allowed (which is strange for an ice cream shop!) Service was friendly and quick."
"Expect a long line, but know it’s worth it! We had 1. Burnt toffee and peanut butter cup ice creams on a Captain P’nut (Sat only) and Gingerrrr cookie. 2. Soursop and Ontario Cherry & Milkjam ice creams on salted chocolate chip cookies. I thought all the cookies had good flavor and a nice chewy texture. The burnt toffee ice cream was easily my favorite. Note: You can order half an ice cream sandwich. One of us was more than satisfied after eating half…I was not that one!"
"Tiny space but Big flavours. This location has been here forever, and even on the coldest of winter days, this tiny space is packed with customers craving flavour bursts. PLEASE LOOK AHEAD ON THE MENU AHEAD TO KNOW WHAT YOURE GOING TO ORDER. The lineups are huge, and it's frustrating hearing a grown adult not know what flavour ice cream they want. We got the half ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie, with Ube ice cream and the banana puddin' custard. The cookie was crispy and chewy. Such a nice surprise. We got a plain bubble waffle cone with butter mint (mint chip without the green food colouring) I will add that the mint was rich and strong. Exactly how I like it. Unafraid to really stand out. And the Lampone My Loves was a raspberry base we found refreshing and delightful Always a winning ice cream experience."
"I loved the ice cream here! I usually don’t review ice cream spots because there are lots of places that have been experimenting with interesting flavours but this is probably one of my favourite places so far- not sure if something else will satisfy me more in the future. But I tried the lo yogurt one and the banana pudding one and it really hit the spot. I also think the portion is perfect! Just enough and you can try enough flavours. I’m excited to come back to try more flavours"
"It’s as incredible as everyone says! I got the boba milk tea and matcha ice creams sandwiched in a chocolate cookie and it was EXTRAVAGANT! Just so rich, all the ice cream tastes so fresh and exactly like its namesake. Highly recommend going weekly to try every flavour, mix and matching with cookies or waffles."
